Sen. Obama reacts to ABC’s abysmally managed presidential debate

I gotta say, Sen. Obama is definitely feeling a lot more comfortable in his role as a presidential candidate. Here he’s reacting to the piss poor job that ABC’s news anchors did in conducting the latest Democratic presidential debate, and Sen. Obama is clearly comfortable throwing a few quick jabs and an upper cut or two:

McCain: For immediate withdrawal, before he was against it

This was McCain back then:

The American people want them home…

The criteria should be to bring [troops] home as rapidly as possible…

Date certain is not the criteria… the criteria ought to be immediate and rapid withdrawal…

And if we don’t do that, and other Americans die or are captured because we stayed too long… then I would say that the responsibility for that lies with the Congress of the United States…

The mission has been accomplished…

The American people do not support nation building…

The argument that some how the United States would suffer a loss to our prestige… I think is boloney.

… I tell you what can hurt our prestige… that’s if we enmesh ourselves in a drawn out situation which entails loss of American lives… more debacles… with a failed mission… that then will be what will hurt our prestige…

Of course, that was during a time when a Democratic president occupied the White House.

Ha, ha… this is great, finally, republicans have their own cool video:

Barack Obama’s “The Speech”

I was an Edwards supporter, but voted for Sen. Obama after my candidate of choice dropped out of the primary. However, even after voting for Sen. Obama, I remain lukewarm towards him. Because, frankly, I’ve found him to moderate his positions too much, while seeming to back away from muscular progressive positions — admittedly, this critique is primarily style over substance. Additionally, I’m not naive enough to believe that one man alone will be able to bring about a so-called “post-partisan” epoch to our nation’s capital; since, at the end of the day, politics is about power, and there’s no way in hell that any politician — much less partisan republicans — will willingly give up hard fought for power. That said, today’s speech by Sen. Obama on Race in America, or The Speech, as some have called it, has raised my enthusiasm for the junior Senator from Illinois.

If you haven’t seen Sen. Obama’s speech, I encourage you to listen to it — there’s a lot here to be hopeful for and enthusiastic about:
