Many of you have expressed an interest on using your money to support Democratic leaning companies; well, http://www.choosetheblue.com has a list corporate campaign contributors that’ll help you make your decision. Say you gotta buy towels, a shower curtain and a coffee maker, then you might want to spend your dollars at Bed Bath & Beyond (political contributions= Dems 93% vs Rep 2%) rather than at Target (political contributions= Dems 28% vs Rep 72%).

As an interesting aside, Fox News is reported as a BLUE company (Dem 68% vs Rep 32%. ref=http://tinyurl.com/3rwoo ) — yes, I did a double-take, too. Here’s what ChooseTheBlue.com has to say in response:

Why are some companies not the color I think they should be?

In some cases a corporation’s donations* are different than their public persona. This often leads to an apparent conflict between who they appear to be and to whom they donate. One example is Rupert Murdoch`s News Corp (Fox News), whose public perception is of a Republican entity, and yet whose donations are predominantly to Democrats. While a company may make donations which are not reported to the Federal Election Commission, we can only report on the information which is publicly available. If you feel you have additional information about these companies and their donations, please let us know.
